    Dear Members and friends,

    It is with my great pleasure that I announce that Mr. David Worts was awarded with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon on November 3rd, 2020.

    David san is the Executive Director of JAMA Canada and the Chair of the Japan Society. As many of you may know, David san is an expert of Canada-Japan trade policies, Japanese automotive sector, and Japanese culture. I first met with David san in Tokyo in 2012. I was working at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCCJ) in 2012. The CCCJ and Keidanren co-hosted a symposium on what we called the Canada-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement which now became the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). David san was one of the key speakers at the symposium. I understand David san played an important role in advocating for the key industry and briefing the stakeholders in Tokyo and Ottawa. David san has collections of Japanese arts - woodprints by Japanese artists, Isao Noguchi lamp, and a mug from the National Diet of Japan with successive Japanese Prime Ministers' illustrations. David san is a true friend and an expert of Japan in Canada. We are very fortunate to have David san as our Chair. Please join us in congratulating David san and JAMA Canada. Please also stay tuned as we would like to plan a celebratory event to commemorate this wonderful occasion with you.
